Good morning! How was your weekend? We went to Leavenworth for a little getaway. We hadn’t been since our travels in the Airstream so it was fun to go back and explore it in a different light. The Bavarian Lodge was recommended to us and we loved it! They left a complimentary lava cake and cider in the room for Jeremy’s birthday. The beds were so comfy and the views of the mountains were gorgeous. Currently they are having folks reserve the pool area by the hour – which we loved because it was never too crowded and we actually had it all to ourselves most times. They had a generous complimentary breakfast each morning that they prepped and had in to-go bags. It included frittata, sausage, yogurt, granola, coffee and/or juice. Masks were required in all the common areas. Housekeeping doesn’t come in your room during your stay but they have extras of all the supplies if you need. They have DVDs to checkout in the lobby and we had a movie night each night. The hotel is walking distance to everything and most of the restaurants in town have take out options and it was easy to eat meals outside or take it to go. Rhein Haus Leavenworth across the street was awesome – you place your order at a central location and we sat outside along the Terrance – with 180 degree views of the Main Street. Liam loved the big pretzel there. Leavenworth Pizza Company is next door to the hotel and you can get pizza to-go there too. The wildflowers are out and there are tons of hikes in the area – we spent lots of time exploring. Check out Icicle Ridge and Waterfront park.
It felt good to go for a drive and get out of town for a bit. We hadn’t slept in a hotel in over a year. . . and we miss the adventures we were able to do before this whole pandemic started. I’m grateful for the good weather and I think going on a non-holiday weekend meant it wasn’t as busy. I read an entire book, we slept in, we watched two movies and we had a wonderfully relaxing time.
